If you’re experience poor signal with your Globe Tattoo modem, the first thing you want to look at is placement. 3g signals find it hard to penetrate physical items such as walls, trees and buildings. You should try to place your modem as close to a window as possible. You can do this by buying a cheap 5m usb extension cable from cdr-king and a small rubber suction pad.

Glue the suction pad to the end of the usb extension cable and plug your modem in. You can then attach is to the window using the suction pad. This allows you to place the modem in the optimal spot for a strong signal. Experiment with different locations in your house. Usually the higher the better and in an open area that’s not blocked by windows.

If the usb extension cable isn’t long enough, you can consider buying a 3g wifi router which allows you to plugin your 3g modem and then share it via a wifi connection. You can place this router anywhere that has a power socket. This means you can have your globe modem by a window at the top of your house, while you use your laptop downstairs.

openDNS make use of multicast IP addresses to automatically redirect your DNS requests to whichever of their servers is closest to you. They use two public IP addresses of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. This simple setup means you don’t have to worry about finding out which of their servers is closest to you or updating your DNS settings when openDNS move their servers or take some servers down for maintenance.

While openDNS can return both the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses relating to a domain, they cannot be queried via IPv6 at the moment. Aside from listening on the standard port 53, their resolvers also listen on port 5353. This is useful if your ISP blocks port 53 to force you to use their DNS servers but aren’t blocking port 53.

For the quickest and most reliable DNS setup, you’ll want to set your ISPs DNS server to be the primary and then openDNS as secondary. Since your ISP will generally answer queries much quicker than openDNS since you’re so close to their servers. While openDNS provide the best reliability by spreading multiple servers around the world.

Not all countries hold trials with a jury in it, but having a jury analyze and judge in a certain case has been around for a very long time. It is different from a bench trial because a bench trial consists of a judge or a panel of judges making the decisions, whereas in a jury trial ordinary citizens are called upon and isolated for the duration of the trial to judge the defendant.

The size of a jury for a trial depends on the type of case being heard. A criminal trial requires 12 members depending on the country, and a civil case only requires about half the number required for a criminal trial. There is no particular time when a person can be chosen as a juror, but there are certain qualifications to be considered as part of the jury in a trial, some of which include non-association with the defendant (which is important, as the members of the jury have to be impartial), a fluent understanding of the language being used in the proceedings, and the capability to be impartial (which will be determined in the interview that may be conducted prior to the selection of the jurors). Also, once chosen to be a juror, you are required to attend the hearings unless your circumstances do not allow you to be present – you could be ill, or you might have moved to another district farther from the courthouse at the time you were chosen, or you may have previous engagements that prevent you from being there. In this case, you have the option to ask the court to postpone your jury duty.

When one is chosen as a juror, one cannot access any other source of information to make their research on the case or conduct their own independent investigation, because this endangers their capability to be impartial. Also, they are bound to a vow of secrecy regarding details of their verdict or how they came to their verdict, or else they will be charged in contempt.

Have you done jury duty yet? A final note (and a warning): those who do not attend jury duty will be fined or may be held in contempt of court. So when you get that mail summoning you for jury duty, make sure you’re there and you find ways to make it there.

Every country’s government, at one point or another, goes head to head with the press, either in their country our outside. This is because while the public has the right to a transparent government – and having a transparent government translates to having a government open to the prying eyes of the media – the members of the media tend to expose too much information all at once, even when utmost secrecy is required of them in order to be able to make an operation successful. For example, it is common knowledge that the media tends to reveal information about military operations that make the targets think one step ahead because they already know what the military is about to do. It’s either this, or the media tends to overstep their supposed neutral territory and pass on judgments on certain sensitive issues in the country.

When is it safe to say that their mingling with the concerns of the country is enough?

The justice system recognizes this problem and, in order to avoid prejudices and sensationalism from affecting their judgment on certain cases, they – and their jury, if a case requires a jury – refrain from accessing any media with the news on: newspapers, television sets, radios, internet – name it, they stay away from it. Also, some processes are being closed to the eyes of the media but are being kept open to a limited number of people so that they maintain the needed privacy and isolation without violating the people’s right to know the processes going on that may affect their future significantly. But I believe part of the control should come from the governments as well – sometimes they do not consider how essential and sensitive the information it is they are giving until it has had its backlashes. In order to determine when enough is enough, the government has to take control of both sides and things can be moderated well.

Frédéric Chopin, pianist, composer and one of the most important figures of Romantic music, was born in a city full of history and remarkable sights – he was born in the capital of Poland, Warsaw. If that’s not reason enough for you to visit Warsaw (or if you’re not a fan of classical music or not a fan of Chopin, OR not a fan of music in general), then I’ll give you a quick list of the places you can visit in Warsaw that might convince you to go.

Many of the sites have been repaired or reconstructed, but the reproductions have been made so accurately that the sites continue to be impressive landmarks in the city of Warsaw. Take for instance the Royal Palace, which was destroyed, like most of the other buildings in Poland, by the Nazis during the Second World War, whose outside was beautifully rebuilt and whose inside contains relics from the original palace that have been saved from the war. Another example is the Warsaw Barbican, a fortress protecting the walled city of Warsaw. This was also destroyed during the Second World War by the Nazis, but was rebuilt and now retains its former medieval glory. You can also visit the Palace of Culture and Science, which was Joseph Stalin’s gift to Poland shortly after the war. While many Poles considered this to be a symbol of the socialist rule of the past, it remains to be one of the major tourist attractions in Warsaw.

If you’re into admiring the simple scenery, you can have a picnic in one of the many squares in Warsaw. The palaces have squares open to the public, and there are squares scattered all over the city where you can admire the Polish architecture. The Royal Palace square would be where I recommend you start, then you can just make your way around. Warsaw has stood witness to history for a long time and surely you’ll find something to interest you there.

The New England area of the United States takes pride in the fact that the descendants of the people from the first settlements of the immigrants from England (particularly the original settlers off the Mayflower) still live there to this day. These are the original modern Americans as we know it. Since for the most part their rural lifestyle has been maintained through the years, a visit to the New England states would give you a good image and a feel of how the Pilgrims (that’s what the settlers are called) lived back when they have just arrived in this place they used to call The New World.

Of course, two of the most popular destinations in the New England area are centers for education: Yale University in New Haven, and Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. These two universities are packed with museums depicting the history of the early settlers, and they also offer a lot of cultural activities which will introduce you to this history and make you experience it. Another popular destination is the hook-shaped Cape Cod in Massachusetts, which is where the Mayflower docked when it arrived to America in 1620.

There are many museums all over the states included in New England, such as the Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA and the Shelburne Museum in Burlington, VT, which depict the history of the early European settlers and show many things related to the Pilgrims. Try and visit the area if you want to get a feel of the Pilgrims’ life there – the six states included are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

If you’re planning a trip in the near future, then I’m sure you’ve come across the question “Should I or should I not make my arrangements through a travel agency?” I’ve encountered that many times, not necessarily when I’m traveling but when I’m setting up travel arrangements for my dad. He’s very big on savings and on good, quality service so I have to be careful with my choices for him.

Here it is in a nutshell: if you’re traveling alone, then it’s better if you make the arrangements yourself. The airllines offer discounts to people who buy their tickets in person, so go to their main office (or to their nearest office, not in the offices of agencies authorized to sell their tickets) and ask if they have promos and airfare discounts. Most likely they have some promo going on at the moment. You can also call and check in with their offices before going there. Don’t expect discounts for accomodations though – like everything else, there are discounts in big numbers.

But if you’re traveling in a large group, or if you’re a couple traveling and you don’t know anyone from the place you’re visiting (especially when the place in question is outside your own country), then it’s best to get the services of travel agencies. They have discounted packages for large groups and for companies as well, which will save you a significant amount of money. Of course, be careful with the travel agency you’re booking with – check their license and their papers, because some businesses may not be legal after all and you could lose your money at once. But that’s my tip for the day: solo means you book everything yourself, group or couple means you’re better off with a travel agency unless you know someone from the place you’re visiting.

When you find yourself in Germany, try and visit the sixth largest city in all of Europe: Hamburg. There are interesting things to see in this city-state, one of my favorites being the Chilehaus, because the architect made it so that it is shaped like a ship. Of course, this isn’t the only thing present in Hamburg, and you can reach its various sites via bicycle, trains, buses (both trains and buses work round the clock), or taxis (which is convenient for those who don’t like the other means of transportation because there is the option to pay with your credit card).

You can go to St. Michael’s Church, which is the most famous landmark in the city. It’s been damaged quite a number of times but is still there – it’s been through a fire, a lightning strike, and the Second World War, and it’s still standing, with its famous 123-metre tower still open for you to see. Or if you want another historical building, then you can go to the Hamburg Rathaus, which contains paintings depicting the history of Hamburg from the year 800 to the year 1900.

The Rathaus is the seat of the government of Hamburg. You can also go to the Hamburg Harbor, which caters to many boats and ships from around Europe and the world, and is the fourth largest port in Europe. You can choose to take one of the pre-arranged tours there, or you can simply walk along the Elbe River and admire the scenery. Hamburg is full of wonderful scenery to admire and so it’s one of the places you have to visit when you’re in Germany.

In a world that’s busy and moving every second of the day, it’s no surprise that many find more convenient ways to eat on the go. There’s the popular box of Chinese takeout, a staple for people on the go who want heavy meals that they can carry and eat everywhere; there’s the trend of turning everything (including pizza) into a sandwich or a roll of some sort; and then there’s the very classic and popular means, putting your food on a stick.

Kebabs, hotdog on a stick, corn cob on a stick (yes, even the corn on a cob is put on a stick in spite of the fact that it’s on the cob already and that serves as its stick!), eggs (chicken and quail eggs have made it, thankfully no one’s thought of placing ostrich eggs on a stick haha) and S’mores – these are very good examples of food that have found its way on sticks and grills all across the world.

Asian cuisine even provides rather exotic options, such as animal intestine, ears, and even chicken feet at times. Just be sure to jog it off after since it can be a little fatty. Why not put them on a stick? You put them there, place them on a grill, brush on your favorite seasoning (or in the case of S’mores, top it with your favourite chocolate) and eat away. You can cook anywhere and carry it anywhere so it’s practical, quick and easy. Have you had your fix of food on a stick today?

Whenever you eat your simple sandwich with a ready-made filling, or whenever you buy those cookie sandwiches ready-made in stores, or if you’re one who has a knack for kitchen work and you’re thinking of baking something, I’m sure you’ve thought of what filling you’re going to use for your chosen food. So what are your favorites?

For cookies, nothing beats a nice vanilla cream filling. It’s sweet but not too sweet, like chocolate tends to be at times (depending on the ratio of sugar and cacao in your recipe, of course, but for fillings people in factories usually use a ton of sugar when making their filling). For pies or cakes, I’m all for blueberry pie filling. It’s easy to make on your own, stores for a long time, and can be used on almost every dessert and can be used on some main dishes as well, especially during the holidays.

Of course, the best use for it is as topping for cheesecake, but you can add some of it to the cheese mixture in order for the blueberry flavor to really be spread throughout the cake. Then for turnovers, my favorite is the classic chicken filling with a twist – turkey. Adding turkey meat adds an additional dimension to it, an additional flavor that just tickes the palate enough to make you want more.

What about you? What’s your list of favorite fillings?

Some people prefer to not have alcoholic drinks, or some people are not allowed to have alcoholic drinks at all, either because they have a sickness or certain circumstances (for example, their religion) call for them not to consume alcohol. When you encounter a situation like this, and you’re planning a party where everyone will expect just about everyone to drink, what do you do?

There’s always a solution, and this one’s not only friendly to those people who are not allowed to have alcoholic drinks, but friendly to kids as well. You can make a mocktail – that’s a cocktail drink minus the alcohol. One of my favorite mocktails is the raspberry-cranberry freeze, and it’s simple:

You get fresh raspberries and puree them, add cranberry juice (and be careful with it because cranberry juice stains badly) and soda water, blend together and serve on a chilled glass and either crushed ice or on the rocks. It’s a tasty treat with the added punch from the soda water so that your guests who prefer non-alcoholic drinks can enjoy just as much as the rest of the party.

The easiest cakes to make are the no-bake ones, and by using your imagination you can come up with different variations of a simple recipe. I’m a fan of the refrigerated cake because it’s the easiest way to get your cake fix without having to cook at all, and it only takes around three to four hours before the cake’s ready. You can make it in advance and it can last for days in the fridge without going stale.

I usually go to fruits for my ref cake filling, but my friends like something sweet and chocolatey, so for them I use Oreos. What I do is simple: I layer graham crackers, the cream filling – made of a cup of cream, half a cup of condensed milk and half a cup of jelly – and chunks of Oreos, throw it in the fridge and wait for four hours or until it’s soft enough to slice with a plastic knife, whichever comes first. You can serve it as it is or top it with your favorite ice cream – I like to top it with vanilla ice cream and sprinkle a bit of chocolate syrup. It’s a quick and easy dessert cake that everyone will enjoy.

I won’t tell your secrets

Your secrets are safe with me

I will keep your secrets

Just think of me as the pages in your diary

Alicia Keys’ “Diary” is stuck in my head.

She’s managed to establish herself as a best-selling artist in the modern world. Since the commercial success of “Fallin” from the hit album Songs in A Minor, she has been working nonstop and has been producing many hits that tickle the hearts of listeners around the world. Even played at restaurants in eastwood city! The song above is from the album The Diary of Alicia Keys, which produced the hits “You Don’t Know My Name”, “If I Ain’t Got You” and “Karma”.

Her combination of classical with pop and hip-hop is considered to have changed the face of music in this new millenium, and she continues to experiment with different combinations of musical styles to achieve a unique, funky sound that hits a note with the audience. It’s always a pleasure to try and see what she’s going to do next – as of now I’ve heard she’s going to be trying her hand at acting. Hopefully she comes out with another record that all of us can enjoy.

Idina Menzel has been around the showbiz industry for quite sometime already, having been first recognized around the world with her originating the role of Maureen in Jonathan Larson’s rock opera Rent. She has recently cemented her name in Broadway history and greatly increased her fanbase by winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance as Elphaba in the stage musical adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s Wicked. But not too many people know she already has two albums and is back in the studio this year working on her third album, which has no definite release date as of yet.

The songs in her albums are all pop-oriented. There are also beautiful ballads that capture the heart. One song from her first album Still I Can’t Be Still, called “Minuet”, even hit the charts and the music video featured her husband Taye Diggs (also from the original cast of Rent and from the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back). That album also includes one of my personal favorites, “Heart on My Sleeve”, a dramatic ballad which sounds closer to her Broadway roots but still appeals to regular audiences because of the simplicity of its message.

Her Second Album, Here, was independently released and only has six songs. This album sounds more pop than the previous album, with the melodies kept to a minimum and the message of the songs given straight up. But despite that, her vocal talent still shines through as she still gives herself room to show her range. I have high hopes for the third album, seeing as she has signed with Warner Bros. Records which is a major record company. I’ll be waiting to see what she comes up with next.

Remember the video with a young (nineteen years old at the time) Usher singing about how he wants to “leave the one I’m with / Start a new relationship with you / This is what you do”? Yes, that’s Usher in the early days of his career. Right from the beginning he had that sultry, floating voice that captivated the world and got a lot of women imagining things about him and wishing they were the object of his songs. The themes of his songs were focused more on love and infidelity (or thoughts of infidelity – depends on the song) and on party experiences, but he also has the ballads that just break the listener’s heart.

With the help of world-renowned producer Jermaine Dupri, he’s managed to produce many chart-topping hits, one of which is “You Make Me Wanna” from his second album My Way.

I just thought I’d remind you of this song, because I have his second album and I can’t stop listening to that song and another hit song he released off that album, “Nice & Slow”. To this day I still am admittedly an Usher fan – never mind the issues about his latest album Confessions and its rumored connection with his real-life relationship with ex-girlfriend Rozonda “Chili” Thomas from TLC. He’s good at what he does and I love his music.

These days the main concern of the people in the music industry is to make money. It’s only fair – after all, it costs a lot to produce, to distribute, and to promote even just a single, much less an entire album. But while this was the main concern of the record executives, there was once a time when the artists did not really care about this and only cared about making music.

I remember an interview with Broadway star Daphne Rubin-Vega when her album Redemption Songs was released under Sh-K Boom Records. The host of the radio show says “You can buy Redemption Songs on the Sh-K Boom website or you can go to iTunes” and then Rubin-Vega goes, “OR you can steal it!” and they both laugh. Rubin-Vega mentioned that all that mattered to her was that her songs and her message would be heard, and that once she even put her recordings up for free at Napster.

But now we see artists becoming singers or musicians in order to gain more income. While I have to agree that it is one easy way of making money – that is, if you make it big in the industry – it also is an art, a craft that people should take seriously and not just get into because of the money it could possibly bring. It’s sad to see that today there are artists who are willing to change their image and follow what the record execs want just so they can make money. Can we return to the time when people made music for music’s sake?

From the year 1975 to the year 1979 Cambodia went through a period under the communist party rule. This is labeled as the Khmer Rogue period – the time when Pol Pot and his Khmer Rogue political party ruled Cambodia and renamed it Kampuchea. This was a time that can be equated to the Western world’s Holocaust, where over two million Cambodians died over the span of four years due to starvation, forced labor and exhaustion, and political executions.

Pol Pot strongly believed in the simplicity and the effectivity of agricultural life, and, considering the city to be evil, he moved the people out of the city and into the rural areas and forced them to work in different agricultural projects. However, he eliminated the use of modern medicine and he also changed the content of the lessons being taught in school. As a result, the children were taught to be revolutionary and, if necessary, to be the ones to turn in their own parents if they exhibit any signs that they are against the new rule. Also, many people did not get the remedy they needed when they would get sick, and as a result they died along with those who were executed because they were suspected to be treasonous.

This nightmare only ended with the Vietnamese-Cambodian War which was brought about by Pol Pot’s ambition to revive the old rule and expand his territory according to the old territories of the Angkorian Empire. But it was not until the end of the war and the occupation of the Vietnamese in Cambodia that the death toll brought about by the Khmer Rogue rule was revealed. To this day, I believe this is one of the grimmest homicides in the history of man, a secret of Cambodia’s past that will continue to follow them and remind the world that sometimes, idealism can lead to tragic things.

The Holocaust is one of the darkest times in the history of the Western world. It has claimed over six million lives over the course of six years – that would average about a million lives a year – and has left many injured physically or scarred emotionally and mentally. It was brought about by the Nazi belief that they are the superior race, and that they had to eliminate those who were making use of “their” resources to get ahead of them because these people – and their victims were comprised mostly of, but not limited to, Jews – should not be the ones making progress because they are the inferior race.

Hitler sent many innocent people he considered to be a threat to his regime to concentration camps, and there they were tortured, their heads skinned, their children taken away and the men and women segregated. They were made to work without compensation, without decent food or drink, and those who would pause to rest for a moment would be shot on the spot. Those who survived were sent to gas chambers under the pretense that they had to be cleansed, were gassed and burned in unmarked mass graves. Many Jews hid in cellars and attics of abandoned houses during this time in fear of being caught and sent off to these concentration camps, and they either survived or died of different sicknesses from being deprived of their basic needs.

I take the moment to remember these fallen innocents – men, women, and children alike – and to salute those who have survived and still live to this day.

Brazil is a very popular tourist destination because of its undeniably gorgeous beaches, its beautiful people (women and men alike) and its incessant parties. The tropical climate of Brazil makes it ideal year-round getaways and makes it a very good place to relax and have fun while getting a tan. If you want to experience the party and beach life of Brazil, then you’d definitely go straight to Rio de Janeiro, the capital, and you’d choose to go during the Carnival Festival, which is a time of the year when tourists flock to Brazil to enjoy the different exhibits of art and music that the festival brings. This is around the time for Spring Break, so expect many students on their breaks there as well during that time of the year.

Remember that Brazil is not only home to a beautiful coastline, but it is also home to the largest rainforest in the world. The Amazon holds many treasures, including rare species of plants and a rich history of Brazil and its past. You can go to the Amazon National Park and join one of the guided tours which will show you not only the different species of plants, but also the different species of animals present like spotted jaguars and pink river dolphins. Whatever it is you decide to do, remember that you can take a trip around all of Brazil in just a few hours so try and take in all of Brazil as you can.

A professor of mine from college once told us of her trip to London, “You will not find a single person on the subway not holding a book. The advertisements on the train are not of products – they are of West End plays or a newly-released book.” London’s history is tied with literature that, whether you’re an English major or just a regular bookworm, when you go to London you can enjoy one thing for sure – a walking literary tour to experience a few key places in the lives of different literary figures.Lucky for tourists, you won’t have to fret when it comes to finding the places you intend to see. These places have a blue plaque on them, stating who lived there and when. This is part of London’s (and the English for that matter) desire to maintain the heritage and to share the history with the rest of the world, as well as to instill a sense of imagination for those looking up to their favorite writers and artists. So if you want to go on a literary tour when you are in London, I recommend that you go to the English Heritage website, check for the names, list down the addresses and you’re good to go.

If you want an easier route, then go from the Westminster Abbey, where you will find the Poets’ Corner and visit the likes of Chaucer, and walk to Foyle’s Bookshop, which was frequented by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and George Bernard Shaw. From there you can go to Bloomsbury, where you can find Virginia Woolf’s residence. You can also walk to the Fitzroy, where Dylan Thomas and George Orwell hung out. From Bloomsbury you can walk over to the Dickens House, which was where Charles Dickens lived and wrote Oliver Twist. From there you can go to the British Library, where original manuscripts of many classics are located and where rare manuscripts are available for electronic viewing. You can then proceed to Bunhill Fields, the cemetery where Milton wrote Paradise Lost. From there you can go to St. Giles, Cripplegate, where Shakespeare was said to have been a parishioner. This is also where John Milton is buried. Speaking of Shakespeare, the next stop would be Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, which is a replica (as the original Globe was burned) but a very accurate one. Finally, go to the Southwark Cathedral, where Shakespeare is said to have worshipped because it was nearest the theater. Hopefully you can get to visit and enjoy all these places in a day – you might get wrapped up in one place that you don’t get to finish your walking tour in a single day.

Korea has had a long history, and with this long history comes a long list of historical places you can visit when you go to South Korea (since North Korea is much stricter and South Korea is very open with tourists these days). Among these historical places are the palaces that can be found in Seoul. If you want to get a feel of what the Korean royalty’s lives were like, you should definitely visit the palaces.

The most famous sites would be the Five Grand Palaces that the Joseon Dynasty built: Changdeokgung, or the East Palace; Changgyeonggung, the summer palace of the Goryeo emperor; Deoksugung, which is really a walled compound of palaces where the kings stayed during the Japanese occupation; Gyeonghuigung, the secondary palace; and Gyeongbokgung, the main palace of the Five Grand Palaces.

Take note of the similarities and the differences in their architecture and the number of decorations on the roof – those decorations determine the importance of the person who lived in the house, and the level of importance of the palace as well. Also, the Unhyeongung or the Unhyeon Palace is a popular spot to visit, thought most of their buildings have been damaged and only part of it has been restored and refurnished. The palaces contain a long history and a lot of artwork from which you can derive Korea’s past, and so I say they are places you must visit when you stop by Seoul.

We all enjoy hip-hop music. No party is complete without having someone play some form of hip-hop music, and I’ve always wondered when hip-hop and rapping started. Apparently it started in the 70s in the Bronx, when block parties were very popular, and it started when the DJs of the time began isolating certain parts of music to make it more party-friendly and danceable. They then added music that has been remixed to fit the beats of the percussion and then tried using this to accompany the centuries-old African tradition of chanting and following a certain rhythm and a certain beat.

It has been in use in parties ever since and has risen in popularity, and it has created a new set of DJs and MCs who sometimes perform themselves. The first hip-hop recording did not appear until 1979 though, just before the end of the decade, and from then on hip-hop diversified and different types of hip-hop have developed ever since.

Today hip-hop could be anything from old school to slow jam to novelty rap. The content could also vary – it has been used to tell tales of sex and lovemaking, and it has also been used to express political views and to promote peace and unity. Also, the art of jamming with hip-hop is no longer limited to those of African and Latino heritages – the Caucasian world has also adapted this type of music, with Eminem heading the movement. It would be ineresting to see how hip-hop will evolve next.

Madonna remains to be on top of her game after all these years. She has managed to survive in the music industry for over two decades and still remains to be a relevant artist in the present day. She has continuously reinvented herself in order to keep up with the times, and even her critics say she is one step ahead when it comes to telling what’s next in the industry.

Madonna started as a dancer in 1979 but her career in singing kicked off in 1982 with her debut album Everybody. She used that to establish her look and her style and when she has introduced herself as a pop artist, she released Like A Virgin in 1984. The album became an international hit and the carrier single became her first number one hit. She followed it with “Material Girl”, and she was labeled the material girl afterwards. The following year she came out with “Crazy For You”, from the sountrack of the movie Vision Quest. She maintained her pop, open and just slightly naughty, image with the songs “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Express Yourself”. Then in 1990, she released the song “Vogue” which to this day is obviously associated with fashion. She moved from the pop-dance hits to ballads in the years that followed, with “I’ll Remember” and “Take A Bow”, but has not abandoned it fully as she also released “Human Nature”.

As the closing of the millenium drew nearer, she experimented her sound and released Ray of Light where the songs “Frozen” and the carrier single hit the charts, proving that a little risk doesn’t really hurt sometiemes. She changed up her style again and released Music where she returned to her dance-pop music roots with the carrier single.

Afterwards she released “Die Another Day” for the 20th James Bond movie, and then she lent her vocals for Britney Spears’ single “Me Against The Music”. To this day she keeps on tweaking her style a little bit so that she can keep up with the artists of today, and she maintains her throne as the queen of pop.

Who doesn’t love meatballs? My best memories of meat are all about meatballs I’ve tasted over the years. My mom makes a simple recipe of meatballs. She buys ground sirloin or ground round (depending on which is available – most of the time it’s ground round) and mixes it with a bit of ground pork, then adds minced carrots, turnip, onions, and onions. She then adds eggs, molds them into balls, and deep-fries them to perfection.

I eat these meatballs with sweet and sour sauce and rice, or my mom tops them on spaghetti with tomato and meat sauce, which makes her spaghetti doubly meaty. If (and this is rare) we have leftovers from the previous batch of meatballs, what my mom does is instead of just rolling them into small balls, she rolls them into bigger balls and flattens the balls and fries them and we have burger patties instead. That way, with the meatball recipe, we get two products for one – meatballs and patties. It’s a tasty treat.

Who is not familiar with James Bond’s cocktail drink of choice? His shaken-not-stirred classic martini is an icon, but it has been popular even before Ian Fleming made the character that made it famous. This is because it’s very easy to make, very versatile that now there are hundreds of variants of martinis available, and it’s tasty to boot.

It’s easy to make a classic martini. The standard ration is four to one: four parts gin to one part dry vermouth. So if you’re making a big batch for a party, if you have four cups of gin, you’ll need a cup of dry vermouth. Stir, pour in chilled martini glasses (or your glass of choice – I just love the elegance of martini glasses and it’s the ideal serving glass for the martini) and throw in an olive. If you want to do it a-la James Bond, then place it in a shaker, shake, and strain into a chilled glass and enjoy.

Pasta is one of the easiest things to cook and one of the most versatile ingredients in the kitchen. You can add just about anything and everything that you find, and still your pasta dish will taste good. It also fills you up really well, so that if you want a no-fuss meal that’s going to fill your stomach adequately, you can always run to pasta.

Of course, every meal is better when the ingredients are fresh, and making your own pasta is easy! All you need for a basic pasta dough recipe is the following: eggs, flour, and a little bit of salt. For every part of flour you need two parts egg, so if you have a cup of flour, you’ll need two eggs for that. You mix the flour and eggs and season it with a little bit of salt and form it into a dough ball. Knead the ball for ten minutes, form smaller balls, and roll each ball out until you reach your desired thickness, while leaving the unused balls in a bowl with a damp cloth on top. You can cook it at once and enjoy your freshly-made pasta.
